The Stanley Kubrick movie, 2001: A Space Odyssey (released in 1968), remains, even now, very much watchable. That film set the lineage for most of the science fiction designs which we still enjoy today. It was truly groundbreaking in both its visual effects as well as setting a new benchmark for what the science fiction genre could realize when focused through the lens of Hollywood.
I’ve long enjoyed the intriguing model designs from Industria Meckanika and thought that one of their machines might fit well into the story written by Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke. Featured here is their resin kit called, “The Gorilla”. The astronauts are from their set of figures called, “Space Pawns”.
